On Taketomi Island, the season of Shōman is quietly coming to an end, giving way to the time of Bōshu—the period of "Grain in Ear" when the summer transition deepens. The shell ginger flowers are slowly fading, while the island's plants and wildlife begin their transition toward summer. The southern breeze carries a noticeable moisture, and at night, the sounds of insects and owls drift through the air.
In this season of change, the evening light feels especially soft, wrapping the white sandy roads and red-tiled rooftops in a warm glow. From spring into summer. As the humidity rises, the sunlight reflects beautifully against the clouds, painting the sky in breathtaking colors—a sunset unique to Hoshinoya Taketomi at this time of year.

月桃の花は少しずつその役目を終え、島の生き物たちも夏へ向けて動き始めました。南風には湿り気が混じり、夜には虫の声やフクロウの鳴き声が響きます。
そんな季節の変わり目、夕暮れの光はどこかやわらかく、白砂の道や赤瓦を優しく包み込みます。
