東海道をゆく旅人が持ち物を運んだ「挟み箱」を模した木箱に入った季節の品々、温泉保養地として欧米人や上流階級の人たちが訪れ、早くから西洋料理が親しまれたことにちなんだ「明治の牛鍋」など、江戸から明治へと、会席を通して時代の移り変わりを感じられる食体験をお楽しみください。

At KAI Hakone, our dinner features kaiseki courses inspired by the rich history of the region.
Enjoy a dining experience that takes you on a journey from the Edo period to the Meiji era. You will be served a variety of seasonal delicacies presented in a wooden box modeled after the hasami-bako—the carrying boxes used by travelers along the Old Tokaido Road. The meal also features our signature "Meiji Beef Hot Pot," paying homage to the days when Hakone thrived as a hot spring resort for international travelers and high society, leading to the early embrace of Western cuisine.

Renovated in August 2025, this hot spring inn in Hakone-Yumoto offers river views from every room. In the open-air baths, which feel like gazing at a landscape painting, you can relax while listening to the gentle murmur of the Suun River. We offer a variety of experiences, such as “parquetry wood-carving workshops,” allowing you to feel the spirit of the travelers who once passed along the Tōkaidō.

界 箱根のご当地楽「寄木細工のずく引き体験」では、実際に職人が行っている寄木細工の制作工程の一部を体験することができます。美しい木目、木の手触り、削り出した際の香りなど様々な角度から箱根寄木細工を感じることのできる貴重な体験です。

At Kai Hakone, you can experience part of the marquetry production process actually carried out by artisans. It is a valuable opportunity to appreciate Hakone marquetry from various perspectives, including its beautiful grain, the feel of the wood, and the scent released when it is carved.

2025年8月にリニューアルオープンした界 箱根。

KAI Hakone reopened in August 2025 with fully renovated river-view guest rooms overlooking the Sukumogawa River. The hotel now features two new exclusive suites over 110m² and the "Sawa-chaya Tea House" in the courtyard for relaxation. Hakone Yumoto Onsen is famous for its hot springs and has been around for 1,200 years. At KAI Hakone, you can relax in the same soothing waters that once comforted travelers on the Tokaido Road. You can enjoy beautiful views from the semi-open-air baths in our large bathhouse.
We also have guest rooms with private open-air baths. One option is the “Hakone Gokochi Suite,” which was newly renovated and reopened in August 2025.
